About FTM

Follow The Money

Follow The Money (FTM) is a stock market research and subscription service owned and operated by Nairametrics.

FTM was created to help investors better understand the Nigerian equities market by providing independent stock research, market intelligence, investment ideas and analysis of companies listed on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX).

The service is edited by Ugodre, Founder and CEO of Nairametrics, working alongside a team of analysts who research companies and identify stocks they believe offer compelling investment opportunities based on the information available to them at the time.

How We Select Stocks

Our stock selections are based on rigorous analysis and our best assessment of the companies and markets we cover.

In evaluating stocks, the FTM team considers a range of quantitative and qualitative factors, including company financial statements, earnings performance, balance sheets, cash flows, valuations, industry trends, management commentary, corporate actions, market intelligence, publicly available information and broader macroeconomic developments.

We also consider factors such as interest rates, inflation, exchange rates, government policy, industry regulation and other developments that may affect the earnings prospects and valuations of listed companies.

Our objective is not simply to identify stocks whose prices may rise. We seek to understand the underlying businesses, the factors driving their performance, the risks surrounding them and whether their prevailing market valuations present attractive opportunities for investors.

Where appropriate, we may revise our views as new information becomes available or as market conditions change.

Our Investment Philosophy

FTM operates on the principle that informed investment decisions should be supported by research, data and a clear understanding of risk.

Every stock recommendation represents the best judgement of our analysts based on the information available at the time the analysis is prepared. We apply reasonable care and diligence to our research and aim to ensure that the information and assumptions underlying our analysis are credible and appropriately considered.

However, investing in equities involves risk, and even rigorous analysis cannot predict market outcomes with certainty.

A company may perform differently from our expectations, market conditions may change, new information may emerge, and share prices may rise or fall for reasons that were not reasonably foreseeable when a recommendation was made.

For this reason, FTM does not guarantee that any stock we select or recommend will achieve our expectations, reach a particular price, generate a profit or outperform the market.

Our recommendations are opinions based on our research and best judgement. They should be understood in that context.

What FTM Is — and What It Is Not

FTM is a research, information and subscription service. We provide subscribers with our analysis, opinions and perspectives on stocks and the broader investment market.

We do not invest money on behalf of subscribers, execute trades for subscribers, operate investment accounts, manage portfolios or take custody of subscriber funds.

Neither FTM nor Nairametrics represents itself through this service as a licensed investment adviser, portfolio manager, fund manager or securities dealer, and the FTM subscription service should not be interpreted as providing personalised investment advice.

Our research and stock selections are prepared for a broad subscriber audience and do not take into account the individual financial circumstances, investment objectives, risk tolerance, liquidity requirements or investment horizon of any particular subscriber.

Subscribers remain solely responsible for deciding whether to buy, hold or sell any security discussed or recommended by FTM.

Where necessary, subscribers should obtain advice from an appropriately licensed investment or financial adviser before making investment decisions.

Our Commitment to Subscribers

While we cannot guarantee investment outcomes, we take our responsibility to subscribers seriously.

We are committed to applying reasonable care, diligence and intellectual independence to the stocks and companies we analyse. We aim to distinguish between facts, assumptions and opinions and, where material new information changes our investment thesis, we will communicate those changes to subscribers.

Our credibility ultimately depends on the quality of our research and the trust of our subscribers.

FTM therefore seeks to provide research that is independent, evidence-based and useful to investors navigating the Nigerian equities market.
